Black Saturday is as quiet as the churches here in UK until the lengthy Easter Vigil Mass at night where a huge bonfire is usually set up outside the church before the Eucharistic celebration. .
Easter Sunday starts early at dawn, with the Salubong or the Meeting. At one end of the town is the image of the Risen Christ on a karo. At the other end of the town is the image of the Blessed Mother. They will start in procession at a synchronized time until they meet just outside the parish church. A sweet chubby little girl dressed as an angel is lowered by a harness from the church window or a makeshift tower to get the Blessed Mother’s black veil off her head to symbolize the end of her sorrows because Christ has already risen from the dead.

And finally, people would enter in the brightly decorated church for the Easter Sunday Mass with lively songs and jubilation. Like any other Sundays, parish churches would have several mass services, but each Easter Sunday Mass would always be a truly special Feast because on this day, our Mighty Conqueror, Lord Jesus Christ has been victorious over sin and death.
After the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, most of the families continue to celebrate the feast in their own households, and everybody greets each other with gladness in their hearts, declaring Jesus is alive! Alleluia! Alleluia!
